The Drunken Duck Inn nr Hawkshead

The Drunken Duck Inn and Barngates Brewery is mid-way between Hawkshead and Ambleside. Really would advise calling ahead for this one as they have a mix of opening hours and when and what food is on offer. You can book a room to stay over here (the rooms look lovely) and there are tons of walks around here. You can amble down to Lake Windermere although direct access to the lakeside can be a bit tricky, or you can settle for walks in the fields and woods with views of the lake. Either way, this is a great pub in a beautiful area.
